For shame?????????????
Lets put it this way, there are some good geophysicists and there are some not so good geophysicists (the same is true in most professions). If geophysics, geology and mineral exploration were exact sciences then every drill hole put into every anomaly would be a winner, most aren't and some dont even fall into the category of technical successes. Ive heard some raging arguements among geophysicists over what the data means or what a particular anomaly may signify.
Didnt mean to insult the profession but just wanted to point out that even the people in the buisness have trouble making sense of it all some times.
As a prospector it is important for me to know when I am in over my head and then one calls in the structural geologist, the geophysicist, the petrographic lab, the mineralogist or the heaven forbid promoter. Heck I'll even call in the local sooth sayer if I think it will help. Sometimes those ptarmigan bones work better then them magical black boxes do. Theres geophysics and then there is geophysics, let me dust off the old brunton and dip needle, the devining rod and beeb mat, and Ill come up with a geophysical map for you but its only as good as the data I collect.
"from a humble prospectors point of view."
