Well, other polls show that Alaska is still red, though the gap has narrowed.

I understand that women who are liberal and balance work/family are offended by the seemingly free pass this woman has gotten, and the irony of her stances (many which are 'anti feminist'). She was picked not because McCain put 'Country First', but because he put 'Politics First'.

But, too much rancor from the left will drive people towards her. Don't expect Obama or Biden to attack her on qualifications, family, or even her scandals. It can easily backfire.

I think what women can take away from this is that they CAN get involved in the highest level of politics without devoting their entire life from day one (like Hillary did). That in itself is different from days past, when only men could step quickly from private to public life, or jump high in a short period of time.
