Every father I know, including my own husband, has stepped up to claim and support their children. That's a lot of good men Patricia.

And I had a teen student last year who got himself a girlfriend who already had a child, and he wants to adopt that child. There are plenty of young men around here who have stepped up and done the right thing by their girlfriends, whether that meant supporting their children, or supporting their girlfriends in having abortions. In fact, I have never heard of anyone getting pregnant and having the boyfriend deny the baby was theirs.

Maybe things have changed. I don't know how current your experience is. Mine is very current. While I'm sure some young dads run out, or deny the paternity of their girlfriend's pregnancy, I don't know of a single case of that personally. And I know litterally hundreds of teens, and some of them have had the misfortune, and yes, it was a misfortune, to have sex too soon, and too carelessly, and to get pregnant.

So even based on your limited experience I don't think you could claim "most" men would act that way, and, in fact, I think that's a slur on men. Men are, by in large, mostly pretty great people, just like women are. You can't judge the whole group by the bad apples.
