I agree with your assessment. I think McCain is well intentioned but intellectually and temperamentally incapable of creating change and moving this country in a progressive direction. His reliance on the old guard of the Republican movers and shakers makes that almost a certainty and his foreign policy kinship with Bush, Lieberman and Lindsey Graham is terrifying. His motives may be true but his grasp is sorely lacking. He's the football player who stubbornly runs head-on into the defensive line and gets stuffed every time; you admire his pluck but he's just not going to get you into the end zone. Ed
