Don't despair, Joe. I agree with the essential content of your post and rest assured that I am equally sick and tired of the GOP - as other so called non socialistic parties around the world - riding that 'center' bandwaggon thus caving in to 'requirements of modern times'.

For long enough do we face a situation of parties based on principles (if any) from the pink mid to the deepest red left side of the political spectrum.

Can you mention just one leader and/or party truly acting to the right of the center, worldwide I mean?

Only Berlusconi and his Liga Nord comes to my mind.
And guess what: They are winning elections and power based on that! All of that in spite of the dubious character of their leader himself.

What is wrong in admitting to and proposing principles of a position to the right of the mid these days?
There is a lot of space there without having to go as far to the right extreme as does our Obama and his close followers on the extreme left.

Don't despair, why?

Because I have the gut feeling, that Palin, just like most strong women know how to put some fire under the butt of their men and make them move, likewise has a pretty good idea of how to get McCain move and going places!

That woman is God sent to us all and may save us from Chilean style extreme experiments out of the Marx and little red books from his previous followers.
