Krauthammer is still negative and cautious about Palin because he had just stated that McCain should make a safe choice for veep when Fox started reporting about the Palin pick. I just happened to be watching at the time. His words of wisdom were still lingering in the air when the report sounded. So I suspect he's a bit chagrined.
