I think this is another example of what Paul E. talked about, the media assumes, because the "focus" news is that sub 1k PC's are selling well, that that is the reason that ASP's are down 22%. Few stop to consider that in July Intel lowered it's prices 30% to 50% while just starting to ramp sales of the next generation product (PII).

Barrons and others (especially WSJ) would prefer to write the BIG story of this huge change in America's taste for computers, better reading, less truth.
