I missed it, John. What was so weak about it?
He was working too hard to convince O'Reilly rather than here's where I stand and I'll fight for it (with some humor and smiles to lighten the tension). A lot of let's find where we agree, identify our disagreements, and then I'll persuade you to agree with me. That looks weak in that setting. Precisely like the contrast between McCain and Obama in the church setting.
O'Reilly preceded it with a lot of negative context setting--Rove, Gingrich, et al. He has also divided it into four parts, the better, of course, to keep viewers coming back.
The segment itself, which was billed as about national security but was only about Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, appeared to be broadcast in full. But they could have chopped it. |
