I think the problem is the hostility between the ID community and the scientific community. IMO, they can coexist peacefully unless you believe the Bible and other such books are 100% literal or that God is impossible.

However, IMO, once you accept that there is a God (I am agnostic), it's pretty easy to believe that if HE revealed himself to man about 6000 years ago it wouldn't have made much sense for HIM to give us a physics book and evolution book explaining everything. It would have made more sense to tell us a story that was correct in a very general sense but well within the ability of such ignorant and limited thinkers to understand.

Personally, as both a cynic and agnostic I think most scientists are as full of crap and motivated by agenda as a lot of the religious types out there.

It's not enough for Dawkins and others like him to advance their ideas about evolution. They have to go out of their way to call all religious people delusional and attack religion anywhere and everywhere they can. In a more ideal world, they would teach their science, NOT COMMENT about religion, not tear down manger scenes from public places, not try to remove bibles and God from places the founders were clearly comfortable with, not try to attack prayer etc.... That kind of hostility provokes a response.

There are two different questions/issues here.

One is trying to determine how it all works.

The other is whether God did or did not create the laws of physics and put it all into motion.
