SPY advances in after hours - Freddie and Fannie..? The Wall Street Journal carried a late note that action on F&F is probable soon. Seems some might be thinking that action might take place over the weekend, or by Monday's opening. That will no doubt rally the general markets if they do just about anything, but it really tells how difficult the situation is....hence the deflation pull down on commodity prices, I'd expect to continue, unless the market reads the action as inflationary...Somehow, the FED and the Treasury have to get banks willing to lend again...able might be the first step...Perhaps the forth coming action will have that effect, though I suspect it will amount to more book keeping entries between institutions..that only contains the problem, shifts the burden but doesn't solve anything. Maybe the CABAL had reason to contain gold today after its initial jump...
