The shift to personalities is real because both sides are claiming to be champions of change. Change management does focus on the dynamics and character of leadership, the conditions underwhich change must occur, and the changees.

No one has said issues are not important by the way and reform is an issue, its the center ring issue. The focus is slightly different. Believability is the current focus. You say you want to reform the government but what is it about your personalities that would give that claim a genuine ring.

Each camp is attempting to put forth a record that lends credibility to their claim that they can and would bring about reforms. Cindy McCain's business, beauty, and wealth are a distraction to that, not to mention that she has proven herself to be a very effective influence for the good in her younger years.
