Hi Crossy,

The reason that Taiwan government tries to prevent currency devaluation is to protect imports. Taiwanese people have enjoyed affordable import goods for a couple of years now. People are used to foreign goods. Now Taiwan dollars depreciate, it might cause inflation there. Last time it took Taiwan for more than 4 years to recuperate from '90's crash. This time it will also take some time.

For a sharp and quick trader, one might have bought stocks at Friday's panic selling (nasdaq down 50+ points) and sell them today. I found a lot of stocks forming hammer last Friday. But all eyes will be on MSFT/IBM earning report today. If either one of them fails to deliever good earning reports, we might see more blood on the market. I don't think I am quick and seasoned enough to trade in this market. So sideline now.
