Hi Hawk,

yes, the Republicans talk a good game. In fact, Bush even talked a good game when it came to diversifying our energy sources. However, the facts are pretty unfavorable to the Republicans. McCain has voted against or abstained from alternative energy legislation 99% of the time.

I used to take politicians at their word when I was younger, but now I doublecheck their statements on important issues against their voting record. McCain's alternative energy record is abysmal. So when he talks about doing something, forgive me for being skeptical.

The Republicans had their chance for the first 6 years of this decade when they controlled both houses and the Presidency. They did nothing but pass favorable oil legislation, which has made us more dependent, not less. I'm now looking for different people to do something about an issue that is at the very top of my list.
