The Wall Stree Journal writer didn't realize that many in Michigan are MODERATE in their views and McCain would only win in Michigan if he had the wisdom to choose a running mate like Tom Ridge...instead we see McCain roll the dice and select a VP who is not really qualified and is from the extreme far right wing of the GOP....McCain also did not give a good speech that would provide compelling reasons to vote for the oldest president we would ever have in history. On top of that there is A LOT of economic pain in Michigan (due to the automotive sectors downturn) and this will benefit Obama. And finally you must remember that team Obama has a much better ground game in almost every state and will have a better Get out the Vote operation (just like Bush did in 2000). I will be very surprised if Obama does not win in Michigan -- and I just spent 5 days there over the Labor Day Weekend (talking with friends and relatives from all over the state).
