The only thing that seems "obvious" is that you've got a very short sighted and simplistic view of the company's outlook. As I said before, if you bought the company because you thought the stock price was going to run up, then you were fooling yourself. The GTE "crash" offer may not end up being all cash, and may involve a BT partnership, which GTE has been interested in for a while. Do you honestly think that a company with GTE's financial background is going to wreck their balance sheet just to make a news splash? Give the management some credit, and acknowledge that there is probably a lot about this deal that you or I don't know about.

And who said anything about buying stock because they *admire* anybody? All I said was Lee has put GTE in the right spot now that the industry is consolidating...
