The Terror Balloons

"The balloons, Maw! The balloons!!
They came again in the night.
Zillions of `em zeroing in. . .
They gave me such a fright!"

"Hush now, Angel," the mother soothed,
While to the window she lifted her eyes,
Scanning the horizon for signs of balloons --
The balloons that terrorize.

The world was attacked by random balloons,
Only a few weeks before.
Now no one was safe, except inside,
Behind sealed and bolted doors.

Millions died in the first week,
Of the balloons' attack.
And as fast as armies destroyed them,
More balloons came back.

The mother cried when the dots appeared,
Across the heavy clouds.
The colorful death spheres darted and swarmed,
Trailing behind them death shrouds.

Terror balloons attack.
They come in your dreams.
They suffocate in your dreams!
