Thanks for sharing those links. I am just trying to figure out the worst case for Palin and whether one could argue, as C2 did, that she should have had a restraining order before seeking to fire him.

It seems to me that a trooper should be held to a higher standard of behavior than others and so justified in seeking his fireing. But C2 is arguing that his supervisor, perhaps with the Troopers union looking over his shoulder, was powerless and so why should she fire Monegan? But I guess Palin is saying that is the point. Monegan should have made it happen, and if he couldn't then he should be fired. Even though it appears the first line of defense was that he was fired for other things.
