Hi Syb.....after I posted the question to you, my cable went out for the evening. We've been dumped on here by the rain bands from Gustav. When the ground becomes saturated, this often happens. Today I woke up to no electricity. When it came back on, it was too late for church, so I'm trying to catch up on the thread, which has been lively in terms of discussion.

I appreciate your honest answer. I risked offending you with it but always saw you as tough so went ahead. My goal, as I said before, was simply to inject another dimension to the abortion issue and the argument that the fetus should be more protected and given a right to life.

As to death with dignity and minimizing suffering, my experience with helping two family members through the dying process was that doc approved hospice giving of drugs was more than sufficient to prevent suffering and most likely was the thing that actually brought on the death in the end. It was a real eye-opener.

It forever dispelled any fears I had about 'writhing in agony' during my last days.
