Oh, I agree with you. Now you are hitting closer to home. We only care about Democracy in the Middle East, because of their massive oil supplies. But when we spend a trillion dollars "promoting Democracy" and losing American lives for it, you have to keep in mind that we are attacking the symptom, not the root cause. If all we're shooting for is to secure our oil supplies, why not go for oil independence instead. For $1 trillion, we would have already been there and then we'd never have to worry about the Middle East again. We just need bigger thinkers than what we have in the White House currently.
