It is human nature, sadly, to want to consign people who don't believe the same as you do to hell, or at the very least to bar the door to heaven. A central theme of almost all religions is that you are "lost" until you find the one way (whatever it is) and that if you reject the one way something bad will happen to you. I think many, unfortunately, do imagine the heathen consigned to hell- I'm not merely talking about people here- I'm talking the religious world-wide. You probably thought I just meant Christians here- I tried to make that clear by bringing in the Christian and the Muslim, but apparently I was not clear enough. I condemn all religions for their tendency to exclude the "other" and to demonize the other. They aren't all equally bad, but as far as I'm concerned they are all bad enough- not that I'd make a law against religion, or anything- I just don't want it mixing with my government.
