Fascinating. Doug Suttles, BP Alaska's president, said due to the Governor Palin's hefty ACES oil production tax adopted by the legislature last fall, Liberty would not have been developed on state land. “If this were on state lands, it’s doubtful we’d have been able to move it forward,” Suttles said. “Alaska is a very high-cost environment for the industry." Quite possibly, Palin wants oil companies to tone down the rhetoric about Alaska's tax environment as she is trying to position herself as having the energy answers. But she is the darling of the rightwing people. Amazing to me. The vast majority of them knew nothing about her until a little more than a week ago. Even those who did know something didn't know very much. But they "know" enough now to want to flip the ticket, making McCain the VP and her the P. They are treating her as The One far more than Democrats ever "deified" Obama. Barely knowing a thing about her. As Spock would say, fascinating.
