France heavily subsidized nuclear power. I'm not sure I want to do that. It seems with energy the government always either subsidizes, or penalizes and restricts, or sometimes both (taking with one hand while giving with the other). If a politician likes some energy solution than he will try to subsidize it, if he doesn't like it he will try to restrict, tax, or heavily regulate it. How about we just get the government out of the way and have a free market in energy?
