I think this is correct, Bertrand Cambou mentioned it a couple of CC's ago that quadbit was a practically write-once thing.

At first I thought flash that is only a couple of times rewritable would be useless, but after giving it some thought I've changed my mind. I can think of the following usages:
- console game cartridges
- music
- consumer electronics devices that are not end-user upgradable.
I wouldn't be surprised if it could replace mask rom completely, and even if it doesn' t get as cheap as mask rom, easier inventory management (only one device needed, instead of a whole set of different roms) may make it cheaper.
