OPEN TEXT AND INSYSTEMS TECHNOLOGIES SIGN STRATEGIC AGREEMENT

InSystems MOSAIC Integrates Key Document Assembly Functionality with
Livelink for Feature-Rich Intranet Document Management Solutions

TORONTO, October 20 /CNW/ - InSystems Technologies Inc. today announced a
strategic agreement with Open Text Corporation which will result in one of the
most advanced, fully-featured Intranet document assembly and management
solutions available. The agreement encompasses current and future InSystems
products including InSystems MOSAIC, the leading knowledge-based document
assembly solution in the insurance industry, and current and future releases
of Open Text Livelink Intranet, the leader in collaborative knowledge
management systems.
The global agreement signed by the two companies will result in InSystems
embedding Open Text Livelink Intranet into current and future releases of
their products and will sell them to InSystems' current and future customers
and resellers. As well, Open Text has obtained the rights to resell certain
InSystems technology in the future.
''With an installed base that includes some of the largest financial
services organizations in the world, InSystems technology is a proven,
knowledge-based, rules-driven system that is clearly the ''best of breed''
document assembly solution available,'' said Abe Kleinfeld, senior vice
president of marketing and corporate development, Open Text Corporation.
''Knowing that we have proven complementary technology, InSystems was
comparing document management vendors with a view to forming a win/win
relationship with one that has a rock solid vision for the future,'' said
Michael Egan, president of InSystems Technologies. ''Open Text was the logical
choice. They have a strong customer and reseller base and the most advanced
intranet knowledge management solution available. The real winners, of course,
will be our customers who will now be able to realize the benefits of
seamlessly integrated technologies which permit both knowledge-based document
assembly and the ability to find information, develop it collaboratively, and
distribute the results over local and worldwide Webs efficiently,
economically, and securely.''

About Livelink
Livelink Intranet is a highly scaleable collaborative knowledge
management application for intranets. Livelink's richly-featured enterprise
document management, workflow, project collaboration and search engines are
tightly integrated into an off-the-shelf application that is easily customized
and extended to fill a broad range of information and knowledge management
needs. Livelink servers are fully Web-based and open-architected to ensure
very rapid deployment, requiring just a standard Web browser on users'
desktops to access its full functionality. Livelink runs on Microsoft Windows
NT(TM) and the leading UNIX platforms and supports most popular relational
database management systems. In addition, a workgroup version of Livelink is
bundled with Netscape SuiteSpot.

About InSystems MOSAIC
InSystems' MOSAIC allows organizations to capture and assemble critical
corporate knowledge and quickly deliver professional, consistent,
highly-personalized error-free documents enterprise-wide. This knowledge is
comprised of information from virtually all corporate applications, including
standard word processors and customer databases, as well as information about
business processes retained by employees. The knowledge is captured in the
form of rules which, in turn, drive the assembly process. The documents, which
include highly-personalized correspondence, complex policies, contracts and
sales proposals, and customized statements, are generated in standard Word or
WordPerfect. Through MOSAIC's Internet-enabled FANDANGO subsystem, e-mails so
personalized they cannot be distinguished from regular correspondence, and
made-to-order Web pages can be developed for the recipient with tailored Web
Site and e-mail links and attachments.

How the Technologies Work Together Today
InSystems' MOSAIC Livelink-based solution allows customers to quickly and
easily assemble complex documents, including Internet/Intranet documents.
These rules-driven documents can also be highly customized and personalized
for the recipient because the InSystems' assembly engine draws information
from any ODBC-compliant database. All documents are checked into Livelink and
managed providing security, and audit and version control. InSystems and Open
Text are already aggressively pursuing joint sales opportunities worldwide.
InSystems provides first line support for the integrated products.
