cj,

Look, the campaign claims they knew about Bristol's pregnancy before they selected Sarah. If they did, the smart thing would be to get the announcement out of the way before the announcement.

I would have done it the same way they did it. Make the introduction and the announcement of daughters pregnancy 2 different news cycles, so that the first one is purely Palin. After that, once she is known as a person, the other news is released, so that the second news then relates to a person who has already been introduced.

Not that she traveled, but that she insisted on going back. Look, she is in her mid-40s with a diagnosed Down's. She was very high risk. Then once she started leaking, she traveled back to Alaska. Not only to Alaska, but to a small clinic that isn't equipped to deal with neonatal emergencies.

Again, it is a judgment issue.

That's true, but, even though I have not done a survey, I would think that nearly every woman would prefer delivering baby with her family around, with a doctor she is familiar with, in familiar surroundings.

A real emergency trumps that, but I don't know how much of an emergency it really was.
