She was leaking amniotic fluid. That means her membrane was broken. That often triggers labor, although maybe not immediately. In addition, that means that bacteria can become a problem. Both risks become greater the longer you wait.

But she was in close contact with her personal physician throughout the course of the events. The physician was advising her and she was following the physician's instructions.
