You don't have to go to Ivy League schools like the Clintons in order to be a good leader but you do need enough relevant experience. The fact that Palin bounced around to 5-6 different colleges and universities before she graduated concerns me...I select candidates to support like a top headhunter would recruit the CEO of a very important global corporation...trust but verify and carefully examine their records not just their ability to speak well with a teleprompter.

Palin is a total distraction but McCain made a big mistake by choosing her and trying to reassure voters like my father -- an economic conservative in Michigan...My father is on some boards of companies and used to help run a major international law firm...My father is a moderate Republican who is concerned about McCain's age and the competence issue..the selection of Palin made him decide he would crossover this year and vote for Obama (can't remember him doing this often in my lifetime)...My mother and my aunt up in Michigan used to vote Republican often when I was younger but after one term of Bush they were frustrated and reluctantly shifted to vote for Kerry in 2004...my mother, my aunt and some other relatives in Michigan feel Palin's way too extreme with some of her positions....With Palin as VP McCain may energize his base and pick up some "Wal-Mart" voters but he's antagonized many moderates and swing voters in crucial Midwest states like Michigan...Going with Palin was a huge roll of the dice and it makes many voters wonder about McCain's judgement.
