That's why I said "invisible or can be proved"- that gravity exists can be proved. Easily.

I don't happen to think religion and science are incompatible- I just think most humans make them that way. The Buddhists manage to do a nice job combining them.

I think in the US there is an hostility to science, especially from the religious corners of our nation, just as there is hostility to education. That strikes me as unfortunate given our need for scientists in the future.
