TCM Pick O' The Day — Wednesday, September 10th By Dirty Harry on Classic Films 4pm PST - Hollywood My Hometown (1965) In this special, Ken Murray hosts his own behind-the-scenes home movies of some of Hollywood's greatest stars. BW-52 mins, TV-G What a gem. Don't miss this replay of a television special from 1965 where the affable Ken Murray takes you all the way back to the 1920s for a look at Hollywood's greatest stars captured forever on home video. This is not the same special TCM previously aired titled Hollywood Without Makeup. That was a 1963 special popular enough to demand a follow up. Never seen this one, but loved its predecessor and am very much looking forward to another affectionate look at The Greats. The thing about the movies is that they're never lost to us. They're just a click away on TCM or home video. We need not miss Cary Grant or John Garfield or Joan Crawford. Each is forever captured to visit whenever we wish. Thank heaven for that.
