The market in general and the semis in particular are in sell first, ask questions later mode.

I think we are seeing all kinds of destruction in the background, which is causing the market to 'freak out'. The commodity unwind, combined with the stronger dollar has whiplashed a bunch of big time hedge funds. Likewise, the mortgage industry is being carved up by the few surviving banks. Portfolios everywhere are looking good one minute and awful the next. I think there is plenty of pain for everyone. Gold and resource stocks are getting crushed. Oil stocks have imploded in the last week.

The market is reaching and groping and not finding much assistance.
