Remember when you were telling someone they made up an argument you didn't advance?

You have just done that to me. I never said the two were related.

You said this:

"Eventually most people who remain faithful have at some point decide to quit trying to figure it all out and trust that, if there really is a God, it will all be sorted out later. They then concentrate more on just the living of a virtuous and charitable life because they're happy with it. If there happens to be some reward at the end, so much the better. If there's nothing at the end, they know they won't have the consciousness to feel betrayed or disappointed."

And I responded to that.

I didn't say the two concepts were related. I just find ferocious believers annoying, since I would not force my beliefs on anyone- and your post talked about "most" people being rather moderate. I don't think you can make that argument without some really good statistics on your side, because I'm not sure it's true. I

The issue of how believers act is separate from the impossibility to prove God- although there is a certain irony (for me) in people willing to die for something that cannot be proved, when so few people are willing to die for things that CAN be proved. Reality is so much less romantic. But I didn't mention that.
