I don't think he meant it that way -

The other day he referred to his muslim faith and George Stephanoplis corrected him. Yesterday, he CHOSE to use the pig phrase along with the old stinking fish phrase.

I find it interesting how talk show hosts and others say it was okay. He didn't mean it. Like hell, he didn't! People only say what they mean. A slip of a word is one thing. A slip of a sentence or two is another. Telling an off color joke is still another aimed, especially when aimed at the opponent.

When considering comments such as this I try to look at it from the perspective of both parties, individually. Had McCain said that about Michelle Obama and/or Biden, what would have been the democrat and Obama team reaction? We all know...

Yesterday, Obama was trying to argue that the McCain ticket was not really about change and he cited some policy examples before adding his color commentary to get his laughing audience.

There are many ways to get that message out; "all hat and no cattle"; "old wine in a new bottle" etc. He was after negative impact on Palin (lipstick) and old fish(McCain) and got it in the ears of his listeners.

This was not happenstance. He and his people are in a panic mode right now and won't hesitate to stoop to new depths in the hope that the McCain people will also jump into the mud.

Here's hoping they don't.
