Evergreen in talks to license technology Wed Sep 10, 2008 10:26am EDT
NEW YORK, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Evergreen Solar Inc (ESLR.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) is in talks to license its new solar thin-film technology to other solar panel makers and could reach agreements in the next 12 to 18 months, Chief Financial Officer Michael El-Hillow said on Wednesday.
"We are currently in discussions with many of the 'world leaders' in the industry, if you will, about our wafers and technology," El-Hillow told an investor conference.
Evergreen, which is currently ramping up production of its flexible, thin film solar cells, expects to bring on line a new technology that would produce four of its "string ribbons" at a time, rather than its current output of two ribbons.
