Stan; why do you think the Reps are always so eager to get rid of surpluses What surpluses? There hasn't been any kind of surpluses for just about ever. You do know that education is financed at the local level - right. The feds give out a little money for just stuff like special needs programs and teaching at risk kids before they enter kindergarden. BUT under Bush the feds without giving money pushed their program - "no kid left behind". That Palin could become president really puts new meaning to the role of federal government in education. steve
