What obstacles did Bush put in the way of alternative energy? In fact, the best thing that could happen for alternative energy research, high energy prices, happened under Bush's watch. I don't think that Bush really had anything to do with it, but if you want to "blame" Bush for high crude prices (I don't), then you ought to credit him for directing billions of dollars toward alternative energy research.
