Ron -

The Enquirer may be concentrating on actual reporting now, instead of just inventing stories. And they may have been right about John Edwards' affair. But their reporting style still tends toward the sensationalistic, which tarnishes their credibility for me.

But you are surely right. Some of the stuff that's happening in the past few years is way more outlandish than anything the Enquirer staff ever dreamed up.

Meanwhile, stories about Gov. Palin's children have been declared off limits by both sides. I have no doubt that if the shoe were on the other foot, and the Obama's had teenagers who had acted like, well, some teenagers do, the Republicans would think such stories were fair game, because they "speak to the character" of the candidate. My belief the Republicans would do that is only supposition, based on things I've seen them focus on and claim to be fair game about Democrats in the past.
