You can infer what you want, I guess, but there's no statement of causality in there.

What if I said in my experience the serious troublemakers at school tended to be poor readers. Would you then make the leap to conclude that I'm saying poor reading skills causes kids to misbehave in school?

Like Bridge Player said, I made a statement of correlation, not causation.
