Maybe it's fair to equate non religious families with dysfunctional families in that there is no love in the home. Mostly fighting and sometimes drugs and alcohol are involved. They wouldn't have time for church as probably mother and father goes separate ways... If there is no love in the home for the children I think this rises above religious training as it's hyocritical and kids see right through it.
