Some of you think leadership doesn't matter?

S&P 500 Average
Jan'01 - Bush took office = 1,350
Sept'08 - Bush on his way out = 1,214
Net Return during Bush years = -10% over 8 years

Compounded Inflation over this time period = 25%

If you invested in stocks that averaged the return on the S&P500, then you are -10% worse off and add in inflation and the purchasing power of your investment has declined a whopping 35% during Bush's last 8 years.

You still think the Republicans are good for your investments? You'd better think again. 90% of the $10 trillion of debt on the books today is a result of Republican policies. And keep in mind I'm a Reagan fan. But Bush Jr has presided over the biggest absolute increase in our debt in the history of the US and that has massive consequences for our economy. This neocon party is the party of fiscal and economic irresponsibility and spending profligacy. We have to put an end to it. I don't like many Dem policies, but they believe in PayGo rules, which will balance our budget and that's good for our economy. End of story.
