I think any exposure to nuns at all tends to make boys better behaved Thank you for speaking up. Like BP said last night, I assumed my original statement would be considered self evident by most and was surprised that it stirred several to think I was belittling their personal choice to live a non-religious life. I also was speaking to behavior in the schools and the impact it has on other students and the teacher's ability to teach. I don't particularly like 'using the rod' or the fact that heavy doses of religion can repress a child but I'm grateful that it also serves to help keep most kids in line. They can work through their repressions later when adults, lol. Socioeconomics are real, and poverty is a breeding ground for all of society's ills. But parents with religious faith can mitigate much of the impact of poverty on their children's lives by their nurturing, their responsible oversight, and their giving of hope and confidence to their child that obstacles can be overcome.
