It was never anything more than what I said.....a PERSONAL observation based on working as a teacher myself, volunteering in the schools, and shepherding my own four children through the PUBLIC schools. It didn't offend BP who says he is himself agnostic/atheist, so I'm still surprised it hit such a nerve with other very bright people on the thread.
