Why should be all be stuck with the crash prone Windows operating systems - I'd like to buy a more mature system that is stable and can run many apps - this is the JAVA promise and we should all - save MSFT shareholders - hope for this outcome.

Have you used NT 4.0? I'll be the first to rip into Win95! I think it's an utter piece of crap, at least for me. I've tried to support OS/2 (which is astronomically more reliable than Win95) but it's parent has (except for adding Java) basically abandoned it. I'm going to ASAP buy NT 4.0 for all my general purpose needs as it is a solid OS. And look at the support! For home users I vote for NT. At least it's not going to be abandoned, hell it'll be improved over what is now, a decent OS.

Java has the promise of being a more mature and stable OS? Man you have not done very much research on this matter have you? I'm all for Java but I do understand one fact - It's in it's childhood and has a long way to go before it can be claimed as a mature and stable OS. NT is now starting to get that kind of respect, give credit where credit is do!
