Zen and the Delicate Balance of SI Thread Harmony

We need to reach some sort of harmony between the Just the Facts (JTF) people, like Hal and myself, and the <<Off Topic>> contingent. We all provide valuable information to the thread and I would hate to see the JTF contingent branch off into their own IDX thread so they don't have to read all the <<Off topic >> comments.

I believe that 75% of the posts are good posts. It is just the posts that say: "Wahoo! We are up 25 cents today!" that provide absolutely no information to the thread. If you are posting more than 3 times a day or 10 to 12 times a week you either know more than Randy Fowler or you are posting things the JTF people don't need to know or care about. Post as many hyperlinks, news articles and INFORMATIVE opinions as you want, but we don't need to know your opinion about everything.

We don't care what other stocks you own unless it in some way directly relates to what is happening to Identix. Look at the top of the screen. It says " Identix", not "Identix and intertesting facts about those who post here." Give us the facts needed to put your comments in context, not your life story.

I agree with Jean that we should discover, dispense and discuss information on IDX and have fun doing it, but our primary purpose is to make money on IDX stock. Many of the JTF group are lurkers and do not provide input to the thread, but often they will email me or Brad with information to post. The JTF group is not as vocal as the <<Off topic>> group by nature so we don't know how many potential IDX investors we are alienating by making them read 100 posts per day. The number of posts on this thread have grown exponentially, but the information content is only increasing linearly.

We need to come to a mutual understanding to avoid the disintegration of this thread from an objective forum into cheerleading session and lose all credibility in the process.
