I see that on PfP there is a lot of anger at Gibson and very little discussion on Palin's performance. I guess it's all in where you're sitting.

I didn't see traps. I saw someone revealed as being extremely shallow in her grasp of the world. Someone attempting to be very forceful to the point of aggressive to hide the lack of real knowledge. It reminded me of Bush- which is not great.

I was delighted to see Gibson attempt to get her to move beyond her obviously scripted and memorized answers. She was very evasive, and he just went after her for it. That's his JOB. It's what we need to see. Not that he succeeded terribly well. She just kept repeating phrases. (really, "can't second guess, can't second guess, can't second guess" got to be embarassingly uncomfortable by the third repetition)

Her evasion on foreign policy credentials bordered on silly.

You know what bothered me about the Bush Doctrine question? Her initial response where she tried frantically to figure out what he was talking about. "In what respect, Charlie?" and then when she just tried to bullshit her way out of it. I think I would have respected her more if she had just said "what is it and I'll tell you".
