Dear Zomby, don't feel bad about being fooled by Uncle Al KBE. Legions of Zombies copied you when Big Ben provided US$ en masse. The hordes of housing "owners" are now learning that in markets where there are supply and demand, prices not only rise but also fall. Their speculative efforts and irrational exuberance have led them to financial failure.

You can lead a horse to water [or US$] but you can't make it think.

When there has been a great deal of irrational exuberance, there follows a great deal of rational penance. So prices fall quite a way to clear the market.
