John, I have not judged him, nor shall I, even with the entire story.
From what limited facts that were given it is quite obvious that it was the minister who has judged. Again I say if the minister did not talk with Kent's son concerning the word of God, then he has shirked his duty as a minister, and God will be the one to judge him. Rom. 10:14-15
And let us not forget 1 Cor.7:12-16 which speaks directly to the situation, no matter how limited the facts, and no matter what rules and or laws of his denomination he is bound by.
Many people are chosen by God to be united to one another. God is perfect and His ways are beyond our understanding, and woe to him who might get in the way by scattering God's people. Consider Hosea, for starters.
Can you find me anywhere in the word of God where scripture "prohibits" a minister from marrying in such a case. If it is there I will yield. I will stand on the word of God. :)
