STEPHANOPOULOS: Obama campaign raised $66 million in August Email Share September 14, 2008 8:25 AM ABC News' George Stephanopoulos reports: Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama raised more than $66 million in August, marking a record fundraising month for his campaign. The campaign also added 500,000 new donors during the month. Previously, the campaign's best fundraising month was February of this year, in the midst of the heated primary with Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., when they tallied $55 million in donations. The McCain campaign reported earlier this month that it raised $47 million during August.
