My Stepfather gave me a .30-40 Krag. I had it cleaned up and headspace checked by a gunsmith, and took it out to shoot. The action was so smooth I was astonished. Then I looked it up in a firearms book at Sportsman's Warehouse, and the article on the Krag declared 'if there is a smoother action out there, I haven't seen it.'

Now my somewhat lukewarm feeling for this rifle has turned to love. I can't wait to go hunting with it, and may try to hunt locally for deer.

With my glasses, I can't see the sights and target very well. I was thinking about some kind of holosight. What do you think? cabelas.com
