Lets begin with the national oversite of education.

Neither the Federal Government, nor should any union have control of our nationwide education of our young children, high school students nor colleges.

Education is a matter for the local levels, and the individual colleges and universities.

Return control of education to the those levels. People will see a revival in the quality of education as you have not witnessed in your life time.

An example of this are the Washingon, D.C. public schools.

Mayor Feinty is committed to improving the public education system in D.C.-----a local problem to be solved. He hired a young woman who understands what excellence in education is-----she has been shaking up the system not without resistance from those who want the current status to remain.

This year the physical plants of the schools have been repaired and are inviting.

This is local work being done locally------a tip of the hat to him. Charter schools, choice in education is finally coming to D.C. at the elementary through High School levels.

The next factor that I am hoping will be tackled in D.C. is providing safe schools and safe passage to and from schools for the students and teachers.

Without this there can be no teaching as teachers will refuse to go into the crime ridden areas to teach----risking their own lives.
