I did the same thing on my Ford diesel garden tractor....ran it about 50 yards and it died....called the dealer and was told to drain the tank flush the open the injectors....crank new fuel through then tighten back up and fire it up.

worked like a charm.....didn't do any damage as he said it didn't run long enough....I don't know the difference between that and a truck engine...but I'm not wanting to try it twice.
